Our Pastor
Pastor Bill DeHass has served Trinity since July 1, 1998. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived the first half of life in the Midwest. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA. Between college and seminary he worked as an insurance underwriter but feeling a "gentle" tug to ordained ministry he began studies at Gettysburg in the fall of 1977. He graduated in 1981 and was ordained by the Central States Synod of the Lutheran Church in America on May 29, 1981.
His calls have involved: The Greater Bedford Lutheran Parish, Bedford PA; St. John, Greenvillage, PA; St.Luke, Scotland, PA; Brickerville United, Lititz, PA; and Trinity, Greencastle. PA. Pastor Bill was called to Trinity as a Mission Developer because Trinity was undertaking a move to a new location as a "Fresh Start" congregation. The first year and half of ministry was still at the old location on Baltimore Street in Greencastle. Then Trinity spent a full year worshiping in the local fire hall while the new buiding was under construction. In January 2001 the congregation began their new start on Jason Drive just outside of Greencastle.
Pastor Bill is married to Beth Fairchild and they have four grown children who live all over the country. When not engaged in pastoral duties he enjoys golf, cooking and traveling. Pastor Bill and Beth live in Chambersburg, PA with their three cats.
